Helping Every Anchorage Student Succeed
The Anchorage Schools Foundation is a field of interest fund of the Alaska Community Foundation. It was created by a dedicated group of volunteers who are passionate about supporting projects that enhance the success of students in the Anchorage School District. The fund has attracted donors and partners including Rasmuson Foundation, Alyeska Pipeline Service Co., Anchorage Community Land Trust, CIRI, Credit Union 1, ExxonMobil, Ignite Anchorage, Koahnic Broadcast Corporation, Municipal Light & Power, TOTE, Wells Fargo, individual teachers, and school staff.
Carol Comeau Endowment Fund
The Carol Comeau Endowment Fund was recently established by The Alaska Community Foundation in honor of Comeau and her dedication to the youth of Alaska. The Carol Comeau Endowment F
und will continue the work of the Anchorage Schools Foundation, a component fund of The Alaska Community Foundation dedicated to supporting local schools by providing small, meaningful grants that support innovative classroom efforts, and responding swiftly to the emergency needs of students. As Comeau is passionate about young children, the fund will also support initiatives that focus on early childhood education within the Anchorage School District The fund is named in honor of retiring Anchorage School District Superintendent Carol Comeau, whose 40 years with the district has left a lasting imprint on the Anchorage community, its students and their families.

Through the Emergency Fund, school staff can nominate students who lack alternative resources to receive fundamental school materials and other crucial supplies.
Small Project Grants
The ASF provides small grants (up to $500) to accelerate academic achievement, test new ideas, and support innovative projects. School professionals including principals, teachers, nurses, counselors and others are invited
to apply.
Grants will be awarded for things such as: Classroom supplies, recreation equipment and uniforms, books, technology, after-school programs, field trips, and other ideas and needs not supported by public funds.
