Donations Needed to Rebuild Alaska Villages Before Winter
Communities along the Yukon-Kuskokwim rivers were hit this year with floods not seen in recent memory. Villages from Eagle to Emmonak were damaged and the historic Village of Eagle was destroyed. Contributions are needed now to help rebuild before winter arrives.
ACF's Disaster Recovery Fund is working with the City and Village of Eagle to coordinate private donations for the rebuild.

ACF General Manger Suzanne Yack says that "Although a Federal disaster declaration paves the way for FEMA aid, Federal aid will cover only a fraction of the damage so private donations are critical." She leads the Alaska Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster and is on the team of local organizers working closely with the Federal Emergency Management Agency to coordinate disaster aid.

Donations can be made through ACF’s secure online donation program, or via mail and phone. Please specify the Alaska Disaster Recovery Fund and then indicate the community you wish to designate (e.g., Eagle, Tanana, Stevens Village, etc.) in the "in honor of" section.
