The Kenai Peninsula Foundation, an Affiliate of The Alaska Community Foundation, announces its competitive grant cycle opening on April 1st, 2013. Up to $6,000 total will be awarded to eligible Kenai Peninsula nonprofit organizations. Each available grant award amount will be $500. The online application deadline is Friday, May 31st, 2013 at 9:00 pm.

Mini-Grants from the Seward Community Foundation are available throughout the year. These are a quick method to assist nonprofit organizations and projects in the Seward/Moose Pass communities. The Jessica Stevens Community Foundation's Healthy Community grant cycle will open for applications on Tuesday, May 28th, 2013.
The Jessica Stevens Community Foundation's annual Healthy Community grants are intended to support organizations and programs in the Talkeetna, Trapper Creek, Susitna and Caswell region that serve community members in areas such as; health, education, human services, arts and culture, and the preservation and enjoyment of the natural environment. The Jessica Stevens Community Foundation will only accept online grant proposals between May 28th and July 26th, 2013 before 9:00 pm from qualified tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations in the listed regions above.
Grant proposals can be for specific projects or for operating expenses. To help support a broad range of nonprofit organizations active in our community, the 2013 Healthy Community grant awards will range between $500 to $5,000. 2012 Grant Opportunity is now closed.
The Chilkat Valley Community Foundation (CVCF) is pleased to announce its fourth grantmaking cycle.
Funding for projects during this grant cycle will range from $500 to $3,500. Applications are being accepted for the following three (3) categories of cash grants at this time.

Operating Support Grants may be awarded to sustainable organizations in amounts not to exceed 10% of the organization’s annual budget.

New Program and Special Project Grants are challenge grants at a ratio of 2:1 (grantees must raise $2 to receive $1). The recipient’s match must be raised within six months of the award notification and must be raised from at least five (5) different donors.

Capital Grants may be awarded as the local match to another funding source. Capital Grant applicants will receive scoring points if they have applied for a Rasmuson Foundation Tier One Grant for the proposed project prior to submitting an application to the CVCF.

The Capacity Building for Charitable Organizations application cycle is now closed.

The CBCO pilot program is currently under review. We anticipate opening the next grant cycle in the summer of 2013. We are not currently accepting applications at this time.
The program offers a unique opportunity for eligible nonprofit organizations to apply for grants to build the capacity of their organizations. Eligibility is limited to 501(c)(3) nonprofits or equivalent organizations located in the state of Alaska. Equivalent organizations may include tribes, schools, churches, local government agencies and programs.
Grant awards will support professional staff and board of directors in their effort to access tools, develop practical skills and cultivate support systems needed to effectively achieve the organization's mission. Grants will fund activities that allow organizations to build capacity in the areas of leadership development, organizational development, program development, collaboration and community engagement, and evaluation of effectiveness.
ACF would like to thank the Rasmuson Foundation for their support of this grant program. The ACF Capacity Building for Charitable Organizations Program is complimentary to the Rasmuson Foundation Tier I Program; however, organizations may not apply for funding from both programs. The Anchorage Schools Foundation fund fall 2012 grant cycle is now closed.
Deadline for submission of applications was by 9pm on October 15th, 2012.
The Anchorage Schools Foundation was created to make grants in support of activities that enhance the success of students in the Anchorage School District. School professionals including principals, teachers, nurses, counselors and others are invited to apply. Grants will be awarded for the following types of projects: classroom supplies, recreational equipment & uniforms,books, technology, after-school programs, field trips, and other needs determined by school district employees and not supported by other sources of ASD funds.
Please specify which school or PTA association will receive the grant award. Grants may not be awarded to individuals.
Typical grants will be between $100 and $500.

PCF Grant Guidelines
The Teen Suicide Prevention Grant Program is now closed.
The Teen Suicide Prevention program seeks applications for projects that will directly enhance community based efforts to prevent teen suicide. Applications are accepted from qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit or equivalent organizations located in the state of Alaska. Equivalent organizations may include tribes, schools, churches, local government agencies and programs. Organizations throughout the state of Alaska are encouraged to apply.
Preference will be given to projects that: (1) incorporate a strategy(ies) outlined in the Alaska State Suicide Prevention Plan FY 2012-2017, and (2) empower Alaskans to work together to promote community wellness. Strategies from the Alaska State Suicide Prevention Plan include:
(1) Alaskans accept responsibility for preventing suicide
(2) Alaskans effectively and appropriately respond to people at risk of suicide
(3) Alaskans communicate, cooperate, and coordinate suicide prevention efforts
(4) Alaskans have immediate access to prevention, treatment, and recovery services
(5) Support survivors in healing
Examples of potential projects include, but are not limited to:
(1) Event Based - supporting a community’s culture camp or local efforts to keep the school building open during summer break.
(2) Social Marketing – designing and implementing a social marketing campaign that educate community members of the signs of suicide and steps they can take to prevent it or advertising resources where to turn when feeling suicidal.
(3) Education – hosting educational sessions for community members on how to handle teen in crisis.
Applicants should demonstrate the organization and/or community contribution to the proposed project.

The Pebble Fund Grant Cycle is now closed. The application deadline was September 4, 2012.
Community organizations throughout the Bristol Bay region are invited to apply for grants from The Pebble Fund during the Fund’s semi-annual competitive grant cycle. Grants are available to 501(c)(3) organizations in the Bristol Bay region, including schools, churches and government agencies. Funding focuses on programs related to renewable resources/fisheries, energy, community and economic development, and education. Detailed grant guidelines are below. All applicants with prior awards must be in good standing and current on all grant reporting.
Please carefully review the Grant Guidelines (linked below) to make sure your project or organization is eligible for Pebble Fund grant funding prior to starting an application. The Grant Guidelines are designed to help eligible projects and organizations complete their application and for any follow-up work on awarded grants.

The 2012 Alaska Children's Trust Grant Cycle is now closed.
Organizations throughout Alaska working to eliminate child abuse and neglect are invited to apply for grants from The Alaska Children's Trust (ACT) competitive grant cycle. Grants are available to 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organizations; municipalities and Regional Educational Attendance Areas or other political subdivisions of the State; State agencies; Alaska Native Tribes, or a combination of these entities. Historically, the ACT has funded both primary and secondary prevention programs. The ACT values services offered in geographic areas with a demonstrated high need and leveraging new funding sources for child abuse prevention.
