What is the Community Asset Building Initiative?

The Alaska Community Foundation supports community based philanthropy through our geographic Affiliates – also known as "Affiliate Communities Funds." In partnership with Rasmuson Foundation, ACF’s Affiliate program started in 2008 with the launch of the Community Asset Building Initiative (CABI) in five Alaskan communities. These combined efforts are helping to develop permanent assets and grow philanthropy throughout the State of Alaska. Follow the links below for the latest news from ACF's Affiliates.

The Benefits of Being an ACF Affiliate

Kenai Peninsula Foundation Grant Cycle Now Open

The Kenai Peninsula Foundation, an Affiliate of The Alaska Community Foundation, announces its competitive grant cycle opening on April 1st, 2013. Up to $10,000 will be awarded to eligible Kenai Peninsula nonprofit organizations. The online application deadline is Friday, May 31st, 2013 at 9:00 pm. New Affiliate Communities in 2013

2012 Grants Awarded to Chilkat Valley nonprofits

The Chilkat Valley Community Foundation, an Affiliate of The Alaska Community Foundation, is pleased to announce the 2012 grant recipients. Nine organizations were awarded grants totaling more than $11,000. Read more about the grantees here.
