Seward Community Foundation
Located at the head of pristine Resurrection Bay on the Kenai Peninsula, the community of Seward is hard at work making changes for its future. Committed residents recently began rebuilding a library and museum and a park for young children.
The endowment they are working so hard to build will target its grantmaking toward improving the lives of its people in areas such as health, education, human services, arts and culture, youth, and community development.
Like other communities in Alaska, Seward’s population booms in the summertime where fishing and sailing are popular. The area is a also famous for the Mt. Marathon run on July 4th, where several thousand people run up and then down Mt. Marathon in the second-oldest organized foot race in the country.
Locally governed, the Seward Community Foundation is solely focused on the needs of the area through a permanent endowment that makes grants to the nonprofit groups that serve the area.
