Grants & Community Projects
As a committee, our goal is to support projects of importance to our community that will help us all become better stewards of the land. We are continually listening and learning about what is important to you.
We are currently focusing our grantmaking on projects that support compassionate health care, innovative education, community enrichment, active enjoyment of the natural environment, and arts and cultural expression.
Please feel free to contact any member of the committee if you have a project you hope we’ll support. Our regularly scheduled grant cycle is announced each spring.
Because we’re a relatively new foundation, we’re building our endowment and learning what’s important. We’ll use this page to keep you updated on the grants we’re making and projects we’re supporting as we move forward.
2011 JSCF Healthy Community Grant Applications Being Accepted
Jessica Stevens Community Foundation is pleased to announce a new annual grant program using proceeds from its growing permanent endowment to award grants supporting nonprofits active in the Northern Susitna community. These grants are intended to support organizations and programs in our community that serve the needs of people in areas such as health, education, human services, arts and culture, and the preservation and enjoyment of the natural environment.
JSCF will accept on-line grant proposals between May 1, 2011 and June 3, 2011 from qualified tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations. Grant proposals can be for specific projects or for operating expenses. To help support a broad range of nonprofit organizations active in our community, the 2011 JSCF grant awards are intended to not exceed $1000. A total of $5,000 may be dispersed this year.
Ineligible organizations include: individuals, government agencies and non-Alaska based organizations. Applications for religious activities, endowment building, fundraising, lobbying, or any proposals that discriminate against race, gender, age or disability will not be considered. Award notifications will be made by July 15, 2011. To apply for this grant, send an email of interest to 2011grants@jessicasfoundation.org.
